I’ll Lead Kano-Kaduna Boundary Patrol On Sallah Day — El-Rufai
Governor Nasir El - Rufai of Kaduna State on Tuesday said he would patrol the Kano -Kaduna boundary during the eid- el- fitri so that nobody from Kano State would sneak into his state .
The governor said it was part of measures to check the spread of the deadly coronavirus into the state .
The eid- el- fitri which marks the end of Ramadan is slated for Saturday or Sunday .
Speaking during a media chat with selected radio stations in Kaduna on Tuesday , the governor said he would ensure that nobody entered the state through the Kano - Kaduna entry points as he would personally man the border .
“ I will ensure that I personally visit and patrol the Kaduna-Kano boundary on Sallah day and I will remain there from morning till night to see who will dare enter Kaduna State. I will not leave there until late at night ,” the governor said .
El - Rufai blamed the influx of people on some corrupt security agents , saying that they were sabotaging government ’ s efforts in curtailing the COVID - 19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the state government has again shut all entry points into the state , according to the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan .
Aruwan in a statement said it had sealed all entry points into the state to all travellers including those transporting food and other essential services between 6 pm and 6 am.
