As the 7th Assembly of Delta State marks its first year anniversary today, the member representing the good people of Udu in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor (JP), has commended his people for the support so far.
Hon. Uviejitobor who is a ranking member in the hallowed chamber, further thanked Udu people for changing the narrative by chosen PDP as their best choice as they massively voted Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and himself as the governor and house member respectively in this administration.
The Lawmaker said, sweet as the journey for the past one year seems to be, there were still some challenges that slowed pace of development. He noted that the journey into the one year anniversary was greeted with Tribunal cases which was finalised at the Appeal Court with victory in our favour. Then came the Novel Coronavirus which has been slowing the global economic growth.
However, the honourable stated that, as part of his responsibility to Udu people, he has commenced the constructions of two blocks of 6 class rooms with offices each at Okpaka Secondary School, Okpaka and Panama Primary School, Orhuwhorun as his first year constituency project in this administration.
He also said as part of his responsibility to his people, he has appointed over 40 persons in Udu as aides, receiving sustainable amount of money every months.
Hon. Uviejitobor maintained that with the kind support of His Excellency Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa he has been able to also influenced good numbers of Udu sons and daughters' appointment into this present adminstration than ever before since inception of democracy.
In the area of road, he said for the past one year, he ensured that the failed portions of Express Junction, Ovwian, Cross and Stop Ekete, Owhase Junction, front of Udu Garage, Udu Road and others are fixed for good use while constructions of Ogodogu Road, Ovwian, Orhuwhorun Main Town Road and Hon. Peter Uviejitobor Link Road, Orhuwhorun among others are on going.
As part of his responsibility to his Constituents at a time of need, the lawmaker said he distributed palliative, food items worth millions of naira across all the communities in Udu which includes the residents in DSC Steel Town to cushion the hardship in the Constituency occasioned by COVID-19 lockdown.
He used this medium to commend Udu Constituency for getting it right this time at the polls. He also appealed to them to reframe from gossip and false story about their leaders and Udu representatives, that such attitudes will impede the development of the constituency.
He also used this medium to appreciate the Governor, His Excellency, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for his love and support towards him and Udu Constituency. He commended him for his developmental stride across the state, specially in this time of global economy recession due to the novel Covid 19.
