The governing council of Heritage Plus, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) today, Monday July 1, 2020, honoured the director general of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Mrs. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, as the Outstanding Delta Personality of the Month.
The award which was presented to Mrs. Mrakpor at her office is in recognition of the successes recorded by the DG in the clean up and beautification of Asaba and her environs.
Presenting the award, Mr. Edema Olumaro, Director of Strategy and Corporate Planning of the group, and was accompanied by Ms. Faith Ogbeide, event secretary and Mr. Frank Otoide (a.k.a. Frank De Don) extolled the virtues of the former law maker.
"Madam, we have come to commend your values. We saw all you did to support widows and other Deltans during the lockdown. We have also seen all you did to rid Asaba of refuse, especially how you cleared mechanics from the street," Mr. Edema said.
Responding, Mrs. Mrakpor expressed appreciation to the organisers and enjoined them to also educate the audience on the health protocols to observe over the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I want to use this opportunity to appreciate you for this honour. It is an invitation to do more. Thank you so for this amazing award. When the award was posted and I saw the comments on Facebook, it showed that people are beginning to understand what we set out to achieve."
The Delta Personality Award which is presented every month is an innovative concept that seeks to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations that have through their commitment and hard work contributed towards economic stability, peace and development of Delta State and beyond during this Covid-19 pandemic.
