OLOMU Monarch Endorses 2nd Urhobo Economic Summit

The Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Ovie Richard Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro 1, has said that the fortunes of Urhobo people would be more enhanced if they key into ideals of the Urhobo Economic and Investment Summit.

The Ohworode who is Chairman, Urhobo Council of Traditional Rulers stated this yesterday at his palace in Ogoni-Olomu when he received on courtesy visit, the Convener and members of the Urhobo Economic Summit Group led by Mr. Kingsley Ubiebi.

The monarch lauded the initiative of the organisers noting that it the Summit has become imperative due to the dwindling fortunes of agriculture and businesses in Urhobo land.

He called on sons and daughters of Urhobo nation as well as well meaning Nigerians and Deltans to support the Initiative in order to unlock the economic potentials in Urhoboland.

According to the Monarch, "Of a truth there are challenges in Urhobo land, the goods in the land are not being seen as it used to be.

"Urhobo people used to be involved in farming and businesses but today the reverse is the case and on this note I commend your effort in putting this Summit in place where all Urhobo people can come and brainstorm on how to move our land forward.

"It is our hope that after this Summit we can have a lot of companies come back to Urhobo land to do business once again.

He called on business moguls, entrepreneurs, politicians home and abroad to support the Urhobo Economic Investment Summit as the gains are enormous to Urhobo land.

Earlier, Convener of the Summit, Mr Kingsley Ubiebi said they were at the palace of the revered traditional ruler to seek his support and that of other traditional rulers in Urhobo nation for the success of the oncoming 2nd Urhobo Economic and Investment Summit tagged "Private Sector and the Future of Nigeria Economy: The Ease of Doing Business in Urhobo land"
